What the FlashDogs is VSS365?

If you’ve been following my blog lately, you might have noticed that I’ve been posting weekly collections of my VSS365 prompts, so naturally this might beg the question – what the hell is VSS365?

VSS365 stands for Very Short Stories Everyday. It was started by FlashDogs back in 2016 and has only grown since then! It takes place on twitter and every month a ‘host’ is assigned. This host then posts a prompt each day in their assigned month for everyone who takes part in it to use.

Towards the end of the month, the current host will let you know who to follow for the next set of prompts, but if you’re ever unsure just ask any of the writer’s you see taking part in VSS365 and they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.

I’ve always dabbled in twitter games, and usually end up tailing off, but vss seems to have stuck. Sure, I’ve missed a few days here and there but for the most part I’m sticking with it. It’s even given me a few ideas that I want to expand past a simple tweet into a full blown story some day.

I’ve even gone so far as to sign up to host a month of my own! So keep your eyes peeled for that, but it won’t be until February 2021 because when I signed up that’s how long the list was!

Are you interested in taking part? September’s host is @tiannag92 and if you’re interested in signing up then the best person to contact is @voimaoy via DM.
