Achievement Unlocked: Ko-fi Support

Thanks to my amazing writer friend Sakinah, I finally had my first Ko-fi!

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the concept, Ko-fi is essentially a tipping website. You can make one-off support payments, or if the creator has a gold subscription, people can sign up for monthly subscriptions!

Often, people offer special incentives for the different levels of support. It’s a little like having a Patreon account, but with the added benefit of the one-off payments that are as minimal as a cup of coffee (hence the site name).

For a creator, websites like Ko-fi are a great way to supplement income and allow us to continue doing what we love to do. For me, my goal is to be able to give up working full time and to devote a lot more time for writing.

As I mentioned before, people offer incentives or perks for support and I’m doing the same. At the moment I only have the basic Ko-fi account, so I am only able to accept one off payments. If this changes and I upgrade to a gold subscription, I’ll let you know!

My perk is this; if you drop me a prompt word in the comments when you support me I’ll write you a tweet-sized piece using your word! I’ll post it to you in a reply on Ko-fi where you’ll be able to see it before anyone else. Then the next day I will share it on my twitter!
